The savings, mandatory and voluntary
A certified FORTIFIED roof unlocks two layers of savings in Louisiana. Voluntary carrier discounts reach near 40 percent for Liberty Mutual and Safeco, near 37 percent for USAA, near 35 percent for State Farm, and near 30 percent for Allstate on the wind portion of the premium. On top of that, Regulation 136 sets mandatory minimum discounts that run higher for Gold and Silver designations in south Louisiana. Those savings repeat every year you hold the policy.
Grant help
The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program offers grants of up to 10,000 dollars toward bringing a roof up to the FORTIFIED standard, paid directly to the contractor.
